APCON Unveils VMware Visibility Solution at IP Expo
IntellaTap-VM offers flexible, enhanced monitoring to extend network security and forensic capabilities to VMware environments
London, U.K., Oct. 4, 2017 – Today on stand CC5 at IP Expo, APCON, a leading provider of intelligent network visibility and security solutions, presents its IntellaTap-VM, a new technology that provides complete visibility of intra-virtual machine (VM) network traffic for VMware infrastructures, including vCenter versions 5.5, 6.0 and 6.5.
Kevin Copestake, sales manager UK & Ireland for APCON, says this is an exclusive preview for the European Network IT and Security community: “VMware administrators want to extend their organisation’s investment in application performance monitoring (APM), network performance monitoring (NPM) and security tools to their VMware cloud infrastructure.”
Copestake adds: “IntellaTap-VM integrates seamlessly with VMware and provides administrators with an easy-to-use point-and-click VM-to-VM packet-level visibility.”
APCON’s virtual visibility solution comprises a virtual agent, IntellaTap-VM, to filter, encapsulate and forward virtual traffic to physical and virtual network performance, security and forensic tools; and a centralised management application, TitanXR, to communicate with VMware’s vCenter to identify and activate TAP points within the virtual network.
“Widespread deployment of VMware server virtualisation in all sizes of organisations has successfully resulted in network cost savings and efficiencies,” says Richard Rauch, president and CEO of APCON. “However, there are monitoring challenges with intra-VM traffic (east-west traffic) in complex and elastic infrastructures. IntellaTap-VM resolves this.”
APCON’s IntellaTap-VM will be available for general release at the end of October 2017.
