Tests Performance Boundaries for Interoperability and Quality of Experience between Software Defined Cloud Technologies

Shenick Network Systems, provider of per-flow IP communication test and performance measurement solutions, today announced support for the VXLAN (Virtual Extensible Local Area Network) protocol, which will be added to Shenick's recently launched TeraVM™. TeraVM is the first high-performance, cloud-based test system that offers performance testing to four Tbps of real, stateful service and application traffic with the ability to pinpoint issues right down to each individual application flow (see release: Shenick Launches TeraVM). Shenick is showcasing TeraVM at the New Innovator Booth at VMWorld, August 26th ‐ 30th in San Francisco.

VXLAN extends the reach of LANs and connects cloud-based virtual machines (VMs) together that traditionally use VLANs, which are challenged to scale to the demands of today's large cloud deployments. Shenick's TeraVM will:

Test VXLAN logical networks for connectivity, performance and security by installing TeraVM across several distinct virtual machines placed in different subnets at multiple locations. Add IPSec support for VXLANs Tunnel End Points in order to verify security for Multi Tenant Units. Support IPv6 MLD for all future high-scale deployments given each tenant requires a unique multicast address.
